DevOps · SRE · Cloud for AI-built apps

Your app works. Let's make it production-ready.

You shipped fast with AI tools. Good. I turn vibe-coded and AI-generated apps into production systems that are secure, observable, scalable, cost-sane, and deployable without fear.

production-readiness.md
  • Secrets out of the repo
  • Alerts before customers notice
  • Deploys on merge, not from a laptop
  • Rollback in one step
  • A cloud bill you can explain
  • Docs your next hire can read

Symptoms

Signs you need a vibe check

None of this means you did it wrong. It means you shipped. This is the next part.

  1. The AWS bill made you sit down

It doubled last month and nobody can say which service did it.

  2. Customers tell you it's down

No monitoring, no alerts, no idea until the support inbox lights up.

  3. Secrets live in the repo

API keys in the code, a committed .env, database passwords in git history.

  4. Deploys happen by hand

From someone's laptop, with crossed fingers, and never on a Friday.

  5. It falls over under load

Fine with ten users. A launch, a newsletter mention or one big customer and it's on its knees.

  6. Nobody knows how it works

Including, frankly, the AI that wrote it. No docs, no diagram, no plan B.

Services

What I fix

Fixed price

Production Readiness Audit

The vibe check itself. I go through your app, cloud account and pipeline, then tell you plainly what will hurt you and in what order.

  • Security, reliability, cost and deploy review
  • Prioritized fix list in plain English
  • Walkthrough call to go over every finding

Project

Infra Rescue & Cleanup

When it's already on fire. Stabilize first, then untangle the console-clicked resources, mystery servers and copy-pasted config.

  • Incident triage and stabilization
  • Lock down exposed secrets and access
  • Remove what you don't need

Project

CI/CD + Infrastructure as Code

Your infrastructure in Terraform, in your repo, reviewed like code. Pipelines that test, build and deploy on merge, with a rollback that works.

  • Terraform for AWS
  • GitHub Actions pipelines
  • Staging and production that match

Project

Observability + On-call

Know it's broken before your customers do. Metrics, logs and alerts that mean something, plus runbooks for the 3am version of you.

  • Datadog or CloudWatch setup
  • Alerts tied to what users feel
  • Runbooks and on-call basics

Project

Cloud Cost Cleanup

Find where the money goes, cut the waste, right-size the rest, and add guardrails so the bill stops surprising you.

  • Cost breakdown by service
  • Right-sizing and cleanup
  • Budgets and spend alerts

Monthly

Fractional SRE Retainer

A senior SRE for your team without the full-time hire. Ongoing reliability work, reviews, incident help and someone to ask.

  • Reserved hours each month
  • Architecture and PR reviews
  • Incident backup when it counts

Process

How it works

  1. Audit

A fixed-price production readiness audit. You get a clear, prioritized list of what's risky, what's expensive and what's fine.

  2. Fix

I fix the important stuff hands-on, in your repos and your cloud account. You see progress in commits, not slide decks.

  3. Hand off

Docs, diagrams, runbooks and Terraform, all in your accounts. You're never locked into me.

About

Hi, I'm William.

I've spent 12+ years in infrastructure, SRE and DevOps: building and running production systems on AWS, holding the pager, and cleaning up after incidents.

Now I help founders, small teams and agencies who built fast with AI tools get their apps ready for real users. There's no junior team behind me and no bait-and-switch. A real human, me, does the work. I use AI tools where they help and I check their work, because that's the job.

I'm based in Denver and work remote with teams across the US.

FAQ

Questions

Do I need to rewrite my app?

Almost never. The goal is to keep what works and fix what's risky. If something truly needs rebuilding, I'll tell you why and what it costs before anyone touches it.

I'm not technical. Is that a problem?

Not at all. You'll get findings in plain English with the business impact spelled out, plus the technical detail for whoever writes code for you.

What does the audit cost?

The Production Readiness Audit is a fixed price, quoted up front after a short call. No hourly meter running.

What platforms do you work with?

AWS is home turf. I also work with the platforms AI-built apps tend to land on, and I can help you decide if and when it's time to move somewhere sturdier.

Will I be locked into you?

No. Everything lives in your accounts and your repos, built with standard tools like Terraform and GitHub Actions, with docs so another engineer can pick it up.

Where are you based?

Denver, Colorado. I work remotely with teams across the US.

Book a vibe check.

Start with a short intro call. Tell me what you built and what's worrying you, and I'll tell you honestly what I'd fix first.
